Wild Reality (Latest): Grizzly Bears: Eye to Eye

Alaska, July 2006: This is my too close encounter with a wild grizzly bear at Silver Salmon Creek Lodge. This light colored bear was a male teenager that had been hanging around the property, causing disruptive minor damage here and there. On this afternoon, I had to walk alone down a path and spotted him watching me from a slightly elevated hill. Fortunately, he allowed me to grab a burst of images before I scurried back to the safety of the lodge. Heart, be calm!
